First clip when Petunia arrived. While she still will go onto her tippytoes at times she’s gotten much better as seen in the second clip.
November 8th she will have a follow up X-ray to compare to her initial X-ray where the lead was detected in her gizzard. The role of the gizzard is to act as teeth and mechanically break down large food.
Unfortunately, as the gizzard breaks down the lead it enters the blood stream causing all sorts of neurological issues, incoordination, muscle weakness etc.
She’s on a medication that hopefully binds to the lead in hopes of her passing it. The second X-ray will show if there has been any progress.
We are light years away from walking but I LOVE watching her stand, clearly trying to balance and even challenging herself to slightly come off the cushion that she’s leaning against. You’ll notice she wags her tail every time she does that. Sooo cute! Great work Petunia! #soproud#hardwork
